Marilyn Jalal is a board-certified physician assistant. Marilyn attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, and the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Marilyn knew she wanted to work with children and as well as in psychiatry before enrolling in PA school. She recognizes that supporting mental health in children, adolescents, and adults is extremely essential as the epidemic raises the global prevalence of depressive and anxious symptoms.

Marilyn’s experience includes inpatient psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, jail and prison, VA psychiatry, educational and developmental psychiatry, and autism spectrum disorder. She has extensive experience with motivational interviewing and wants to help anyone in need of assistance. Marilyn is a warm and compassionate listener. She is aware of the contrasts between the Gen Z, millennials, and the boomer generation in this new high-tech environment.

Marilyn provides medication management and supportive therapy under direct supervision of Dr. Afrina. When she is not at work, she enjoys hiking in Texas state parks with her pup, listening to mysteries, and trying spicy food with her friends and family.
